01Overview

About Dock Shelters & Dock Houses

A dock leveller closes the gap under the trailer; a shelter or dock house closes it around the trailer. Without one, a docked opening is effectively a hole in the building — losing conditioned air and admitting rain, dust and insects for the whole time a vehicle is on the bay.

Available configurations

The same product, built for a different job. Where a specification depends on opening dimensions, selected profile, operating duty or site conditions, the final configuration is confirmed during technical assessment.

  • Curtain shelter

    Sprung frame with sealing curtains at the head and sides. The general-purpose arrangement for a mixed fleet.

  • Dock house

    A built-out housing enclosing the bay, used where the dock face sits flush with the building line or the fleet varies widely.

  • Inflatable shelter

    Inflating cushions form to the vehicle body for the tightest seal. Specified where temperature loss is the governing concern.

FAQ

Questions we are actually asked

Do I need a shelter if I already have a leveller?
They do different jobs. The leveller closes the gap under the trailer; the shelter closes it around the trailer. Without one, the opening is effectively open for as long as the vehicle is on the bay.
How long do the curtains last?
Curtains are a consumable and their life depends on the accuracy of vehicle placement and the number of movements. Our published frame service life is 10–20 years; curtains are replaced within that.
