About Rolling Grille
A rolling grille is the open end of this family. Rod, bar and link construction leaves most of the opening genuinely open, so a mall unit stays visible and a parking deck stays ventilated while the opening is secured overnight.

Questions we are actually asked
- What bar diameter and spacing do you use?
- Bar diameter is typically in the 6 to 8 mm class and opening spacing approximately 35 to 150 mm, but both depend on the pattern selected. These are reference ranges for the constructions available, not one universal specification.
- How many cycles will a grille last?
- We will not publish a headline cycle figure. Cycle life depends on the specific system, its drive and how it is maintained, and we only state a rating where the supplied system has actually been validated to it. For frequently operated openings, ask for the high-cycle configuration and we will confirm what it is rated for.
- Does a rolling grille keep weather out?
- No, and it is not designed to. It secures and ventilates an opening while leaving it visible. Where weather closure is also needed, the usual answer is a grille paired with a solid shutter.
- What sizes is the Rolling Grille available in?
- It is made to the opening rather than supplied in fixed sizes. Send us the clear width and height along with the headroom and side room available, and we will confirm what the configuration supports.
- Can it be motorised, and can an existing shutter be motorised?
- Yes to both, where the curtain and barrel suit it. Motor selection follows curtain weight, opening size, barrel diameter and how often the shutter runs, so it is calculated for the opening rather than taken from a product line.
- What happens during a power failure?
- Every powered shutter is supplied with a manual override, by hand chain, crank or release depending on the configuration. It is part of the specification rather than an accessory.
- What do you need from us to quote?
- Clear opening width and height, the headroom and side room, roughly how many times a day it will be used, whether it is internal or external, and the finish you want. That is usually enough for a configuration and a price.
